Privacy

The public pages can be read without an account. An email address appears only when you leave it yourself: for an event, a photograph, or the journal letters.

What is stored

The event and photo forms ask for an email address. It is used to clarify a submission or to remove it when the author asks. That address is not shown on breed cards, the calendar or the contest gallery. Only the editor sees it on the closed review page.

An address left by the journal is kept for letters about new articles. It is not shown on the site. The remove button on that same form deletes it.

A vote is counted from a connection fingerprint. The IP address itself is not stored in the database.

Cookies

The vote cookie remembers which photographs this browser has already voted for. The editor cookie keeps the review page signed in. Neither cookie is used for advertising.

How to remove a submission

Permission to show a photograph is withdrawn by an email from the same address given in the form. The editor removes the photograph or the event. The site does not yet have a separate public mailbox, so the request can also be written in a new form from that same address.
